## Description

Join the Data Platform team within the Platform mission at Spotify, where we build the foundations that power how Spotify understands user behavior at scale. As a Data Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for building and evolving internal tools that help developers instrument and understand user behavior data. You will collaborate with engineers, data scientists, designers, and product managers to create intuitive and scalable developer experiences. Your tasks will include designing and maintaining APIs that integrate smoothly with Spotify's web clients, evolving and maintaining JavaScript SDKs to support new capabilities within the user behavior infrastructure, and contributing to backend systems and services that support data collection and processing at scale. You will also take part in an on-call rotation to support the reliability and performance of the platform.

We are looking for experienced engineers who have strong experience with JavaScript and TypeScript, including modern development, testing, and debugging practices. You should be comfortable building applications using React and working with backend systems in Java. You should care deeply about developer experience and enjoy building intuitive, reliable APIs and tools. You should have a quality mindset and think holistically about software development, from coding to deployment and monitoring. You should have experience building user-friendly web applications and understand what makes a great user experience. You should be curious and collaborative, and enjoy working with cross-functional partners to solve complex problems. You should have exposure to areas such as GCP, Kubernetes, gRPC, protobuf, or large-scale data pipelines. You should be comfortable leveraging AI tools (such as Claude Code) to enhance development workflows.
