## Description

This role has been designed as ‘Onsite’ with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office.

As a Network Engineer 3 Switching, you will own and drive complex L3 escalations related to Juniper Enterprise and Data-Center switching platforms. You will serve as a technical escalation point for other TAC teams and global support organizations, and act as a customer advocate, understanding business impact and ensuring timely, high-quality resolution.

Key responsibilities include:

- Customer & Escalation Leadership: Own and drive complex L3 escalations, serve as a technical escalation point, and act as a customer advocate.

- Advanced Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis: Isolate issues, reproduce customer-reported issues, and deliver clear root-cause analysis, workarounds, and permanent solutions.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Product Management, and QA teams to resolve defects and improve product stability.

- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Leverage automation, scripting, and tooling to improve troubleshooting efficiency, drive process improvements, and stay current with next-generation networking technologies.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electronics, or related engineering discipline.

- 7–10+ years of experience in networking, with strong exposure to enterprise and data-center environments.

- Proven experience in technical support, escalation engineering, or advanced operations roles.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience supporting global customers.

Core technical skills:

- Networking Fundamentals

- IP networking and protocols: ARP, ICMP, TCP/UDP, DNS, DHCP

- Strong troubleshooting methodology and analytical thinking

- Switching & Data Center Technologies: Layer 2: xSTP, LACP, VRRP, 802.1X, CoS, QoS; Routing: BGP, OSPF, RIP; Overlays & Virtualization: EVPN, VXLAN; VPNs: L2VPN, L3VPN; Multicast: IGMP, IGMP Snooping, PIM

Preferred skills:

- Scripting & Automation: Python, Perl or Shell scripting

- Experience with network automation frameworks and operational tooling

- Hands-on experience with data-center network design and implementation

- Experience working directly with product development and engineering teams

- Certifications - JNCIS / JNCIE (Switching or Data-Center) or equivalent
