## Description

Samsara is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to partner with its R&D organization. The successful candidate will manage Cloud, Cellular, and AI infrastructure costs, driving quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify cost optimization opportunities.

Responsibilities:

- Partner closely with leaders across Software and Firmware Engineering teams to manage Cloud, Cellular, and AI vendor spend

- Analyze financial results, prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting, and support financial review meetings with R&D and Finance leadership

- Partner with Accounting on month-end close activities, cost classification, and reporting requests

- Collaborate with R&D teams to drive AOP planning

- Improve the accuracy and scalability of existing financial reporting and forecasting models

- Develop new mechanisms, analysis, or KPIs to inspect business performance

- Leverage AI tools to streamline financial reporting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis workflows

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

- High aptitude and enthusiasm for complex problem solving utilizing financial modeling and analysis, including advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills

- Experience at a high-growth tech company

- Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally in a fast-paced, often changing environment

- Strong communication and presentation skills; comfortable presenting to senior management

Preferred qualifications:

- Familiarity with AWS cloud cost and general SaaS cost management

- Proficiency with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Glean, Cursor, etc.), Databricks, and FP&A tools such as Workday Adaptive Planning (or similar planning systems) and NetSuite

- Prior partnership with software engineering teams

Compensation:

- Annual Base Salary: $81,600-$105,600 CAD
