## Job Overview

The 4PL Area Manager represents Flexport at external 3PL/4PL partner sites, ensuring adherence to SLA standards, system requirements, and SOPs. This role involves operational execution, forecasting coordination, invoice approval, and developing the 4PL operating model.

## Responsibilities

- **Operational Execution**:

- Serve as Flexport's primary point of contact for assigned 3PL/4PL partners.

- Conduct site visits to inspect operations and ensure partners meet SLA standards for receiving, shipping, inventory accuracy, and packing quality.

- Coach and support teams at partner facilities, enforcing Flexport policies, SOPs, and compliance requirements.

- Manage performance reporting and escalate operational issues.

- **Forecasting & Capacity Planning**:

- Coordinate forecasting with partners, confirming labor plans and capacity align with projected demand.

- Identify risks that could impact merchant SLAs.

- **Process & Systems Compliance**:

- Ensure partners follow Flexport SOPs and use the WMS correctly.

- Maintain safety and loss prevention standards.

- **Billing & Invoice Management**:

- Review and approve 3PL/4PL invoices for accuracy.

- Resolve discrepancies with partner teams.

- **Build the Function**:

- Develop documentation for working with 4PL partners, including processes, escalation paths, and performance standards.

- Drive long-term network improvements.

## Requirements

- 2+ years of experience managing a team of 5 or more in a fulfillment, warehouse, or 3PL environment.

- Valid passport and willingness to travel internationally to partner sites.

- Ability to hold external partners accountable without direct authority.

- Strong communication skills.

- Experience building structure and process in fast-paced environments.

- Proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel.

## Nice-to-Haves

- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

- 3PL/4PL vendor management or multi-site operations oversight.

- Experience building SOPs or operational processes from scratch.

- International logistics or supply chain experience.

## Additional Information

- **Travel**: Regular visits to partner sites, including international locations, are required.

- **Availability**: 4PL partners operate 7 days a week; you must be reachable outside standard business hours.
