## Description

We are seeking a Substitute Teacher to provide day-to-day teaching coverage across all our schools in California.

High Tech High is guided by four connected design principles,equity, personalization, authentic work, and collaborative design,that set aspirational goals and create a foundation for understanding our approach.

As a Substitute Teacher, you will be responsible for preparing lesson plans and educating students under the general supervision and guidance of the School Director. Your duties will include assigning homework, grading tests, and documenting progress.

Key responsibilities:

- Create daily lesson plans with project-based assignments that are engaging, educational, and exciting for students

- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences

- Incorporate goals, competencies, and objectives into lesson plans in ways that directly apply to students' lives

- Achieve school and course-wide performance goals for every student in class

- Grade assignments and homework regularly to keep students updated on their progress

- Identify students who are struggling with learning, emotional problems, or situations at home, and find them the resources they need

The ideal candidate will possess:

- Ability to efficiently and effectively manage time

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Exceptional administrative and organization skills

- Proficient knowledge of teaching strategies and methods

- Critical thinking skills

- Ability to manage diversity

Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree

- A valid California K-12 teaching credential, which may include a 30-day Substitute Permit or a Teaching Permit for Statutory Leave (TPSL)

This is an hourly position with a salary range of $24.16 per hour, and does not include benefits.
