## Senior Software Engineer - ManagedDB Team

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our ManagedDB Team in Menlo Park, CA. The ManagedDB team is responsible for a large number of databases running in every Snowflake region across several public cloud providers.

### As a Senior Software Engineer on the ManagedDB Team, You Will:

- Architect & Scale: Lead the technical vision, design, and implementation of database products to suit internal needs.

- Drive Multi-Cloud Strategy: Create elegant, cloud-agnostic abstractions and software infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP to ensure seamless management and rapid feature delivery.

- Technical Leadership: Drive complex, cross-functional engineering initiatives from inception to production, mentoring junior and mid-level engineers, and establishing software engineering best practices.

- Ensure High Availability & Security: Continuously harden our database infrastructure to meet SLAs around uptime, security, and durability.

- Production Excellence: Participate in an on-call rotation, lead incident investigations for complex production issues, and direct blameless post-mortems to drive permanent systemic improvements.

### Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:

- Work Authorization: Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).

- Education: BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience).

- Experience: 7–12 years of professional experience designing, building, operating, and scaling large-scale backend distributed systems in high-growth production environments.

- Core Systems Knowledge: Understanding of databases (PostgreSQL, Redis) and experience running large-scale distributed systems.

- Advanced Programming Proficiency: Strong hands-on coding experience in systems and application languages such as Go, Java, C++, or Rust.

- Public Cloud Mastery: Extensive experience architecting infrastructure on major public clouds (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including cloud networking constructs (e.g., VPC peering, PrivateLink, Transit Gateways).

- Infrastructure as Code & Automation: Proficient in automating global fleet deployment and configuration using tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
