## Description

WSP USA Inc. is seeking a Technical Director, Civil/Geotechnical Engineer with expertise in Heap Leach Facility Design to join our Mine Waste Management Team.

In this role, you will manage and execute mine waste geotechnical engineering projects, lead civil design of mine waste containment facilities, and direct complex geotechnical analyses.

Key responsibilities include:

- Managing geotechnical field investigations, laboratory testing programs, and data interpretation

- Leading civil design of mine waste containment facilities

- Directing complex geotechnical analyses, including stability, seepage, and thermal modelling

- Independently managing projects and delivering high-quality reports

- Working with and leading multi-disciplinary project teams

- Supporting technical proposals and design work packages

- Managing junior engineers

- Participating in a safety-first culture

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geological Engineering

- 14+ years of relevant experience in consulting engineering or mining industry

- Engineer license required

- Demonstrated experience in tailings management and heap leach facility design

- Advanced proficiency in technical computations and calculations

- Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills

- Tactical lateral thinking and strong analytical skills

Preferred qualifications:

- Master's degree

- Spanish language skills

Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
