## Description

We are seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join our team of staff in the Wards department at Runnymede Hospital. This is a part-time role for 22.5 hours a week, with a flexible shift pattern.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Assisting patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs, respecting their preferences and dignity

- Helping patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, including documenting intake where appropriate

- Carrying out and accurately recording routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels (after appropriate training)

- Reporting any concerns about a patient's condition or wellbeing promptly to the Registered Nurse or relevant clinician

- Recording care provided and patient observations clearly and accurately on appropriate documentation systems or electronic health records

- Ensuring patient confidentiality and adhering to GDPR and data protection policies

- Following all infection prevention and control procedures, including hand hygiene, PPE use, and environmental cleaning standards

To be considered for this role, you should have:

- Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community, or domiciliary)

- Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude

- Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns appropriately

- Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills

- Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks
