## Description

Electronic Arts is seeking a Technical Director to lead the technical strategy for capturing research data from EA game sources. The successful candidate will define how dedicated title streams, shared instrumentation, capture builds, and downstream data systems work together as a unified capability for Research & Engineering.

The Technical Director will be responsible for driving the architecture, standards, priorities, and technical outcomes of the Game Data Capture team. They will coordinate across researchers, ML Data Engineers, title teams, central infrastructure, security, and legal partners while remaining hands-on in the most consequential technical decisions.

Key responsibilities:

- Define the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for a unified cross-title game-data capture capability.

- Establish standards for supported modalities, synchronization, coordinate systems, schemas, build identity, provenance, validation, and platform performance.

- Determine which capabilities belong in the shared capture platform and which require title-specific integration.

- Prioritize title onboarding and research requests based on technical feasibility, research value, dependencies, and long-term platform leverage.

- Lead architecture and design reviews for capture SDKs, title adapters, build automation, and interfaces with central data infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of professional software engineering experience, including technical leadership in AAA games, game engines, real-time simulation, or related systems. They will have expertise in C++ and strong working knowledge of large, multithreaded game-engine codebases.

In terms of compensation and benefits, EA offers a package that includes a salary range of $169,500 - $242,600 CAD for this role in British Columbia, along with benefits such as vacation time, sick leave, extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, and a retirement plan.
