## Description

Honda is seeking a Senior Customs Administrator I to join their Trade Compliance Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and managing customs clearance, supporting local content reporting activities, and assisting with other daily tasks.

The Trade Compliance Department implements and coordinates compliance and supply chain security activities relating to all import and export activity done by or on behalf of all Honda companies. The department is primarily concerned with declaring the proper value, classification, and rate of duty as well as other information applicable to imported merchandise and providing this to U.S. Customs and other governmental agencies.

Key accountabilities include:

- Supporting department operations relative to import and export functions, supply chain security, local content reporting, and preferential trade programs

- Managing customs clearance of imported merchandise containing the required data elements per the regulatory requirements and deadline

- Conducting audits using statistically relevant random sampling methods and identifying compliance rates in the trade area

- Developing and maintaining written instructions, operation standards, training documents, and back-up documentation to substantiate work performed

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years' import/export and trade compliance experience within the industry or with a customs broker or freight forwarder. A licensed Customs Broker and Certified Customs Specialist are preferred. Other required skills include analytical, compliance mind-set, detail-oriented, and organizational skills, as well as knowledge of US Customs & Border Protection (CBP) import regulations and excellent oral and written communication skills.
