## Description

We are seeking a Theatre Practitioner to join our team at Circle Cheshire Clinic in Northwich. This is a bank role working on an 'as and when required' basis, supplementing staffing levels during busy periods and providing cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

The successful candidate will assist the surgical team by preparing instruments, maintaining sterility, anticipating surgeon needs, and ensuring equipment safety. They will also support the Anaesthetist in equipment preparation, patient monitoring, airway management, and positioning, as well as provide post-operative care, monitoring vital signs, managing pain and nausea, and ensuring patient readiness for discharge.

Key responsibilities include:

- Setting up operating theatres according to surgery type and specific patient requirements

- Checking all surgical and anaesthetic equipment prior to use and reporting faults immediately

- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve safe and efficient surgical lists

- Supporting and contributing to a positive, respectful, and efficient theatre environment

- Adhering to infection prevention and control policies and procedures at all times

To be considered for this role, applicants should meet the following criteria:

- Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC)

- Experience or training in a theatre environment in at least one area (scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery)

- Understanding of infection control, manual handling, and patient safety principles

- Ability to work under pressure, problem-solve, and respond quickly to changes in a dynamic environment

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

- Attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to safe surgical practice

- Ophthalmic, plastics, Mohs, and pain experience is desirable

Circle Health Group offers a competitive hourly rate of up to £28.00 per hour, depending on level of experience, training, and qualification.
