## Description

As a Manager, Data Scientist on the Bureau Data Strategy team at Capital One, you will lead the development of highly-used datasets from raw credit bureau data and shape the future of credit bureau data usage in underwriting. Your responsibilities will include:

- Partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-centric products

- Leveraging a broad stack of technologies such as Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark, and more to extract insights from large volumes of data

- Building machine learning models throughout all phases of development

- Translating complex work into tangible business goals

The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, a leader, technically skilled, and a data guru with experience in data analysis, machine learning, and open-source programming languages.

**Basic Qualifications:**

- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related)

- 6+ years of experience performing data analytics (for Bachelor's degree), 4+ years (for Master's degree or MBA), or 1+ year (for PhD)

- 1+ year of experience with open-source programming languages for large-scale data analysis

- 1+ year of experience working with machine learning

- 1+ year of experience with relational databases

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- PhD in STEM field plus 3+ years of experience in data analytics

- 4+ years of experience with Python, Scala, R, or SQL for large-scale data analysis

- 4+ years of experience with machine learning

- 2+ years of experience managing production repositories on GitHub

- 1+ year of experience working with Spark or PySpark

**Salary Information:** McLean, VA: $197,300 - $225,100 per year New York, NY: $215,200 - $245,600 per year
