As Country Counsel UK & Ireland, you will lead the legal support for HP’s Sales & Marketing organization across the UK and Ireland.

Your role involves serving as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders, enabling business growth while managing legal risk through a smart, pragmatic, and commercially focused approach.

- Drive simplification, scalability, and continuous improvement by developing guidance, playbooks, and self-service tools that empower the business and reduce dependency on Legal for low-risk matters.

- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing legal team, fostering accountability, collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.

- Promote a smart-risk culture by balancing legal, regulatory, and policy considerations with business priorities and customer needs.

**Required Education and Experience**

- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales, Solicitor or Advocate in Scotland, or another equivalent UK legal qualification.

- Typically 10+ years of post-qualification experience in a leading law firm and/or in-house legal department.

- Strong experience negotiating and advising on complex commercial, technology, services, software, and channel transactions.

- Demonstrated experience advising on complex commercial and regulatory matters, with strong knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, including competition law, data protection and privacy, consumer protection, cybersecurity, AI, corporate governance, anti-corruption, and financial regulations.

- Experience supporting senior business stakeholders and influencing decisions in a complex, cross-functional, international environment.

- Proven experience managing, coaching, and developing high-performing legal professionals and teams.

- Proven ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with little to no management oversight.

- Strong stakeholder management skills and experience collaborating effectively across legal, compliance, privacy, finance, sales, and other cross-functional teams.

**Desired Skills and Characteristics**
