## Description

KWES-TV Midland, a TEGNA-owned NBC affiliate, is seeking an experienced Executive Producer to lead its team of producers. The successful candidate will have prior TV leadership experience, a commitment to success, and a passion for mentoring and providing regular feedback to the team.

The Executive Producer will collaborate with producers to create engaging shows and explore new ways to present audience-focused content that meets the needs of the local community. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a track record of quality journalism, and the ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute long-term newsroom strategies

- Train, develop, and coach the newsroom team, focusing on mentoring content creators across all platforms

- Oversee the daily editorial process and on-air execution

- Review and approve scripts, providing writing and copy editing support

- Source and recruit top-notch journalists

- Participate in coordinating coverage, from breaking news to enterprise story production and specials

- Ensure news coverage meets brand standards, policies, values, and FCC rules

- Manage newsroom operations, including scheduling

- Collaborate with newsroom management to establish goals and develop the local brand

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field

- Prior experience as a news producer and newsroom leader

- Proven track record of quality journalism and high integrity

- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to work under tight deadlines

- Knowledge of AP ENPS, Edius, photojournalism, video editing, and content management systems is a plus
