## Description

The Contracts Agent role supports the contracting needs of Southern Company's business units, providing guidance on procuring and paying for goods and services. The successful candidate will be responsible for daily support of sourcing and contracting activities, from RFI/RFP process to contract closeout.

**Responsibilities:**

- Manage sourcing and contracting activities throughout the entire process

- Negotiate and draft contracts, ensuring risk control and mitigation

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors

- Develop and maintain knowledge of legal provisions, contract law, and industry best practices

- Analyze and evaluate supplier information, market research, and compliance documentation

- Provide guidance on procurement policies and procedures

- Negotiate Software License Agreements, SaaS Agreements, and other technology-related contracts

**Requirements:**

- Bachelor's degree preferred

- Experience in procurement or contracts preferred

- Knowledge of contract law, negotiation, and drafting

- Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Proficiency in procurement systems, SharePoint, and other business technology tools

**Location:**

- Atlanta, GA or Birmingham, AL

**Work Arrangement:**

- Minimum of 4 days per week in-office
