## Description

At Bayer, we're seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining our facilities and machinery/equipment used for production processes, ensuring safety and quality in alignment with applicable procedures.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with employees across the plant, support safe and reliable operations, and handle basic activities in IT systems to document and communicate your work. By keeping equipment and facilities in good working order, you will help secure stable production, protect colleagues and the environment, and contribute to a clean, well-organised workplace that enables the team to perform at its best.

Your primary responsibilities will include: Demonstrating ability and working knowledge to conduct and complete maintenance on company facilities and equipment across the warehouse, plant and field; Maintaining an active inventory of parts, supplies and tools to complete needed repairs and meet availability expectations; Coordinating and scheduling service and maintenance work, ensuring timely completion and minimal disruption to production; Maintaining company facilities and equipment to enhance value and usefulness and to provide a safe working environment, including cleaning, decontamination and basic housekeeping; Ensuring needs assessment and compliance with all applicable hazardous work permits, including but not limited to Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), line breaking, fall protection, confined space and atmospheric monitoring; Maintaining accurate records for all equipment and facility maintenance activities performed, leveraging internal IT systems (e.g. Maintenance Connection), and clearly document and communicate; Demonstrating knowledge of and adherence to Environmental, Health & Safety (HSE) and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) standards (e.g. general shop floor and machine safety and operating procedures), promptly reporting issues to the appropriate areas, Safety technicians and leadership; Performing other tasks across functional areas depending on site and seasonal needs, including supporting waste elimination and value creation by reducing variation in production processes and equipment settings, driving adoption of 5S practices, and keeping metrics and other relevant information current on visual boards to foster teamwork.
