## Description

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive General Practice team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care, providing core general practice nursing services, and working autonomously as part of the wider General Practice team.

**Main duties of the job**

- Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs

- Cytology

- Removal of Sutures

- ECGs

- Venepuncture

- Hypertension Management

- Chronic Disease Management/Reviews

- Providing travel health advice and travel vaccinations in line with training, competency, and appropriate PGDs or PSDs

- Providing wound care, dressings, and suture or clip removal

- Administering B12 injections and other injections under appropriate PGDs or PSDs

- Administering hormonal or oncology-related injections where directed by secondary care and where appropriate training, governance, and authorisation are in place

- Routine immunisations/Childhood immunisations

- Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings as required

- Requesting pathology tests, for example, urine culture, swabs

- Interest in Diabetes or Coronary Heart Disease and Contraception

- Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate

- Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels

- A duty to advise senior nurses of potential problems or errors within a range of assigned tasks

- On occasion, there may be a requirement to undertake home visits

- Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post

**About us**

- We are a large practice in Kings Langley with a branch surgery in the village of Bovingdon

- We serve a practice population of 15,500 patients in & around our 2 sites

- We have 6 GP partners, 4 salaried GPs, a nursing team & additional health professionals in a variety of roles inc. Clinical Pharmacists, First Contact Physicians (musculoskeletal practitioners), Health & Wellbeing coach, Mental health Nurse, also work alongside us in our practices

- We have a large administrative team that are based at Kings Langley

- You will work within our existing reception team - everyone is very friendly and supportive

- Your main role will be at either Kings Langley, our Bovingdon branch surgery, or potentially a mix of both so your own transport is essential
