## About the Role

Anthropic is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the development of a platform that handles finance events, ensuring accuracy and reliability. The successful candidate will oversee a team of engineers, partnering with various departments to deliver high-quality solutions.

### Responsibilities

- Lead and grow a team of engineers, focusing on hiring, coaching, and setting high engineering standards.

- Own the delivery of the front door for finance events, the accounting ledger and engine, ensuring every event is posted exactly once and can be traced back to its source.

- Be accountable for production services used by other engineering teams, such as tax and collections services in the billing flow.

- Ensure finance applications and agents have the necessary platform support, including SDKs, scoped access, SOX guardrails, observability, and required capabilities.

- Define and maintain the reliability and correctness standards, including SLOs, tests, and daily accuracy checks.

- Collaborate with engineering leaders in Billing, Compute, and Infra on technical design, data contracts, and APIs.

- Drive efficiency in supporting new products, programs, or compute buildouts.

### Minimum Qualifications

- Experience leading teams that build and run high-volume backend systems where correctness matters.

- Knowledge of event-driven systems with idempotent processing, replay, and backfill.

- Sound judgment on platform boundaries, data contracts, and API design.

- Experience hiring and growing engineers, and setting engineering standards.

- Ability to work across functions with upstream engineering teams, finance, and auditors.

### Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of engineering management experience, with 8+ years total in the industry.

- Experience building developer platforms or paved paths used by other builders.

- Familiarity with Go and streaming systems such as Pub/Sub or Kafka.

- Experience with LLMs and agents, including MCP.

- Knowledge of double-entry accounting and experience with ledgers or sub-ledgers.

- Managed teams through audit and compliance work, such as SOX change management.

### Logistics

- Annual salary: $320,000 - $405,000 USD.

- Location-based hybrid policy: 25% office time.

- Visa sponsorship available.
