## Description

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Experienced Thermal Product Design Engineer located in El Segundo, CA.

This role involves designing Thermal Products, such as Multi-Layer Insulation and Protection, to meet mechanical system requirements and establish mechanical systems design for Government and Commercial Satellite Programs.

**Responsibilities:**

- Develop, integrate, and document mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design.

- Develop, maintain, or modify mechanical and fluid system, component, and installation designs using 3-D Computer Aided Engineering tools.

- Perform, integrate, and document mechanical, fluid, and thermal analyses and test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

- Manage supplier development, test, and production activities and coordinate with suppliers to optimize design and achieve program goals.

- Develop new design/analysis processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of the development effort.

- Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.

**Basic Qualifications:**

- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences).

- 5+ years of experience in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

- 3+ years of experience with structural design or the design of mechanical sub-systems or components.

- 3+ years of experience with subsystem engineering, including harness, thermal protection system, and/or prop feedlines/layout subsystems.

- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- 1+ year of experience working with cross-functional or cross-organizational teams.

- 1+ year of experience with schedule and budget management, stakeholder communication, and program planning.

- 2+ years of experience with designing and installing multi-layer insulation blankets.

- Effective time management, communication, technical writing, presentation development, facilitation, and organizational skills.
