## Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Technician II, Sub-Assembly to join our team at Ultima Genomics, a rapidly growing life sciences technology company. As a Technician II, Sub-Assembly, you will build, assemble, install, and test complex mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies, fixtures, and equipment using hand and power tools. You will also diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues across subsystems, collaborate with engineering teams to identify and drive design or process improvements, and support quality and manufacturing engineering teams on production issues and new product introduction (NPI) initiatives.

Responsibilities:

- Build, assemble, install, and test complex mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies, fixtures, and equipment using hand and power tools

- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues across subsystems

- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and drive design or process improvements

- Redline assembly and test instructions

- Support quality and manufacturing engineering teams on production issues and new product introduction (NPI) initiatives

- Other job duties as assigned

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

- AA/AS in engineering, physics, or a related field preferred, and 2+ years of relevant hands-on experience in manufacturing or assembly

- Hands-on experience assembling, testing, or troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems, instruments, or production equipment

- Experience building wiring harnesses from engineering documentation, including interpreting schematics, wire lists, assembly drawings, and work instructions

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics (via PDM viewers, PDFs, etc.)

- Skilled in using hand tools and diagnostic instruments, including calipers, torque drivers, wire crimpers, multimeters, and more

- Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for precision assembly

- Proactive, dependable, and committed to high-quality work with a positive attitude, curiosity, and eagerness to learn and contribute to a collaborative team environment

- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods, pull, lift/move/carry up to 30 lbs and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and close visual focus
