## Description

This role is a position within a fun, supportive and hard-working Corporate Governance Legal Team, who manage a wide range of commercial contracts, sourcing, outsourcing and real estate as well as governance, board and corporate legal matters.

The Sourcing Counsel role will report to the Europe Associate General Counsel, and be responsible for providing efficient, effective and high quality legal support for the European business, including complex regulatory sourcing and outsourcing arrangements as well as property and facilities matters.

Key responsibilities:

- Lead strategic support on a wide range of complex sourcing and outsourcing legal matters across Europe

- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts

- Advise on regulatory requirements applicable to sourcing and outsourcing arrangements

- Support vendor onboarding and ongoing supplier management processes

- Negotiate and advise on property and facilities related legal matters

- Draft, review and advise on a wide range of materials relating to the matters above

- Identify the need for external legal advice and engage and manage appropriate external counsel

- Identify competition/anti-trust, data protection and financial regulatory issues

- Strong collaboration and relationship building with legal and business partners

- Build a thorough understanding of the payments industry and Visa’s products and services

- Responsible for management of day-to-day sourcing, outsourcing and real estate legal queries

- Provide training to identified business areas on law, processes and policies

- Proactively contribute to the Legal, Ethics and Compliance Division’s planning, cohesion, consistency in advice, and the general efficiency and effectiveness of the team as a whole.

This is a hybrid role, with attendance in Visa’s London office expected Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday weekly.

Qualifications:

- Qualified lawyer in England 8-12 years PQE

- Strong academics and training

- Substantial commercial legal experience with regulated entities

- Substantial experience advising on commercial contracts, sourcing or outsourcing matters

- Strong ability to partner, communicate, and navigate through multiple disciplines and organizational groups

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team context

- Ability to prioritise and manage a varied and busy workload

- Positive attitude, high level of integrity and intellectual curiosity

- Fluent in English

- Knowledge of the payments industry (and applicable regulation) or financial services environment

- Experience using AI tools in a legal environment
