## Description

We are seeking a Theatre Practitioner to join our team at The Beardwood Hospital, located in Blackburn. This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours a week, with a flexible shift pattern.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the surgical team by preparing instruments, maintaining sterility, anticipating surgeon needs, and ensuring equipment safety. They will also support the Anaesthetist in equipment preparation, patient monitoring, airway management, and positioning, as well as provide post-operative care.

Key responsibilities include:

- Preparing and checking surgical and anaesthetic equipment prior to use

- Setting up operating theatres according to surgery type and specific patient requirements

- Adhering to infection prevention and control policies and procedures

- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve safe and efficient surgical lists

- Supporting and contributing to a positive, respectful, and efficient theatre environment

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:

- Registration as a Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC)

- Experience or training in a theatre environment, specifically in scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery

- Understanding of infection control, manual handling, and patient safety principles

- Ability to work under pressure, problem-solve, and respond quickly to changes in a dynamic environment

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
