## Description

We are seeking a Senior Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) Software & System Design Engineer I to join our team at American Honda Motor Company in Raymond, Ohio. The successful candidate will be responsible for projects, system enhancements, and portfolio support of CAE Systems, including tools, methods, and processes necessary for virtual testing and performance verification of advanced products.

The ideal candidate will provide direction, technical leadership, and lead projects working with North American Business teams, Japan IT teams, and global outsourcing vendors. They will collaborate with product development business stakeholders and Enterprise IT Services to develop, implement, and support virtual testing applications, verification management systems, and High Performance Compute (HPC) systems, including Cloud-based solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

- Defining system and application support metrics and using them to monitor support quality and performance

- Implementing measures to meet quality and performance goals

- Coaching junior engineers in their effort to provide support for assigned solutions

- Contributing to projects implementing computer-controlled Virtual Testing applications and HPC systems

- Supporting project activities and coordinating North American contributions to global projects

- Defining steps required to meet required outcomes for broad and complex initiatives

- Setting the necessary budget and resource plan for complex initiatives

- Identifying opportunities for sharing and utilizing CAE and Cloud-based tools across the enterprise

The successful candidate will have:

- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or IT

- At least 3 years of practical experience

- Expert knowledge of at least 2 of the following disciplines: Product design and manufacturing principles, Mechanical engineering principles, Computer Aided Engineering Applications (Abaqus, LS-DYNA, NASTRAN, Star-CCM, Fluent, ANSA, HyperMesh or similar), Cloud-based architecture and solutions

- Working knowledge of at least 2 of the following IT disciplines: Computer Operating systems, database and application administration, Programming skills (compiled languages and scripting), Fundamentals of DevSecOps framework, Agile Development methods

- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

- Proficiency with Project Management skills – schedule, resource, and budget management

- Continuous learning mindset to stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in CAE applications
